Short version: we keep your email so you can sign back in, we keep recipes you imported so they show up in your library, and we send the recipe text to AI providers to process the conversion. That's it.
What we collect
- Email. When you sign in with a magic link, we store your email so we can authenticate you and so your library is tied to the right account.
- Recipes you import. Screenshots you drop get uploaded to our servers, run through AI vision to extract the recipe text, and discarded after extraction. The extracted title, ingredients, steps, and macros are saved against your account.
- Conversions + ratings. Every diet conversion and any rating you leave is saved against your account. Ratings are public (no email shown, just star + comment + tags) so they can help other cooks.
- Basic logs. Our backend (Supabase) records standard request logs for debugging and rate-limiting. No analytics SDK, no third-party trackers.
Who we share it with
- Anthropic (Claude) — we send the extracted recipe text and your preferences so Claude can generate the diet-converted variants. We don't send your email.
- OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) — we send the screenshots you upload so the vision model can extract the recipe. We don't send your email.
- Supabase — our database + auth provider. They host the account, recipes, and ratings.
No ad networks, no data brokers, no retargeting.
Cookies and local storage
We keep a single item in your browser's localStorage named dishdraft.session that holds your Supabase auth token so you don't have to sign in on every visit. Clearing site data signs you out.
Your rights
- Delete your account + all your data by emailing privacy@dishdraft.com.
- Export your recipes + conversions by the same route.
- Delete individual recipes or ratings from your library at any time.
